A talk on Cancel Period Poverty was given to students of Std. X and Std. VIII by Ambika Nevrekar to create an awareness about period poverty among school kids. The queries raised by students were answered by Ambika and Dr. Roma Nevrekar who is an alumni of our school.

Felicitation of SSCE 2023 Batch

The management and PTA of Bhatikar Model High School, Margao, felicitated students of the SSCE 2023 batch for their meritorious performance at the SSC Examination held in April 2023. Shri Bhaskar Verlekar, Headmaster, presented the achievements of the School during the preceding academic year. Chief Guest Shri Damodar Mauzo, celebrated Konkani writer and Dnyanapeeth awardee, presented certificates, medals and scholarships to the meritorious students.

Later, delivering the annual Pandurang Raya Bhatikar memorial lecture, Shri Damodar Mauzo spoke on the need to instil the reading habit at an early age, and to evolve a reading culture amongst school students. Sharing anecdotes from his journey as a writer, he emphasized how prolific reading shaped his own evolution as a writer. In his engrossing lecture, Shri Mauzo exhorted students to take their learning beyond the textbooks and the classroom, and explore the vast world of literature. Reading expands the horizons of the mind, makes a person more conscious, thoughtful, sensitive, and empathetic – all qualities essential for a student to emerge as a conscientious citizen, he said.

The function was wonderfully compered by Sir Gautam Gawde.

The first session of alumni-speak scheduled on Saturday, 4th February will address the aspects of technological advancements impacting education and practice of medicine. Our alumni will share their experiences, provide valuable insights, and share their thoughts on how young students should prepare for the challenges ahead.

We invite parents and students to attend the session in the interactive session in Bhatikar Model High School .

Top performers of Bhatikar Model High School at SSCE April 2022 were felicitated at the hands of Chief Guest Shri Nitin Kunkolienker.

Delivering the annual Pandurang Raya Bhatikar Memorial Lecture on the occasion, Shri Kunkolienker spoke about the impact of technological advances on the global economy, the disruption in the job market, the emerging areas of learning, and the need for the students to stay focused, work hard, and acquire multiple skills to emerge successful.

Inauguration of Bhatikar Model Primary School Hall

The renovated hall of Bhatikar Model Primary School was inaugurated at the hands of Shri R. S. Kamat, member and former Chairman of Model Education Society.

On the occasion Shri Kiran Nayak, member of the Society and ex student of the School fondly recollected the memories of late Pandurang Raya Bhatikar and late Ratnakar Bhatikar who devoted their lifetime to the cause of education. Headmaster Shri Bhaskar Verlekar welcomed the gathering and Teacher Rati Bhatikar expressed her gratitude on behalf of the School and the PTA. Teacher Anju Kamat also spoke on the occasion. The compere for the function was teacher Annapurna Velguenkar.

Renovation of the hall was initiated and successfully completed by the PTA of the School led by Mr. Mandar Sawardekar, who along with members of the Executive Committee of the PTA devoted their valuable time and effort to make this possible.

Goa Liberation Day at Bhatikar Model High School

Gonya Muktidisacho Suwalo School Principal Tricolor Fadkovan Vada celebrated by pressing. This time the school principal shared his valuable thoughts. Similarly, the students of this time presented Vadwik Gavpi songs, dance and speeches of Gonyanavishi. This program was conducted by teacher Deepali Naik. What prizes should be distributed during this time. Teacher Saurbhi Co-operative read the names of the students who went to Inam Favo. Teacher Savita Gaonkar has done a lot of favor.

LIVE A LIFE LESS ORDINARY

Smt. Annapoorni Aiyar Charitable Trust and Lions Club of Margao, Ravanfond jointly organised the AGNIVEER Awareness Programe for students of Std. X at 3 MTR Navelim Military Camp, Ravanfond. It was basically to inspire students to live a life which is less ordinary. Bhatikar Model students were one of the fortunate schools to be invited to this very inspiring session by Major Harjeet Singh. A big thank you to Ln. Ashwin Aiyer and Ln. Maruti Aiyer who extended this wonderful opportunity to their alma mater.

A presentation organized by the special educator Vanesa Lopes

As part of an initiative to sensitize students of 9th and 10th standard about the challenges faced by children with different abilities in our school, a presentation was organized by the special educator Vanesa Lopes on 12th and 13th of July 2022. Mrs.Percy Cardozo of Sangath, Goa was the main speaker for the program and was assisted by Domnic Xavier and Vanessa Lopes (special educator).

Mrs. Percy Cardozo explained to the students the need for acceptance and inclusion in the classrooms. Tr. Vanessa conducted a few activities to help the students empathize with their peers who are differently abled. Mr. Domnic Xavier who is a successful Human Resource Manager, gave his view and perspective as a person and student with special needs.

The students responded well to the presentation, activities conducted and were very interested in the program. Sincere thanks to Headmaster Bhaskar Verlekar, for his encouragement in promoting the sensitisation program.

School Competitions

School life is incomplete without competitions. Competitions in schools motivate students to realize their strengths and work upon their weaknesses. They boost their self esteem, communication skills, creativity and confidence. They help to make children emotionally and mentally strong. Every year just prior to Independence Day we hold competitions in story telling, elocution and dance to give children an opportunity to showcase their talents. This year too there was an overwhelming response.

And what is more important is some of our own ex students were our judges… our talented artists who know very well the anxiety and pressure each child experiences. Thank you Jyotee Pandey, Diya Padiyar, Trisha Bene, Sweta Kalwar, Sahil Khanvilkar.

We will always be grateful to our parents Arya Pai Raiturkar, Ashwini Pai Dukle, Shoma Bhobe, Vinda Pai Dukle, Suchila Lotlikar and teachers Ramesh Naik and Gautam Gawde who helped judge the competitions.

The Annual General Body Meeting of the PTA

The mission of any PTA is to ensure that the school is a better place for learning. To enhance the learning environment it is very important to have an efficient and cooperative PTA. We at Bhatikar Model High School are fortunate to have an excellent PTA. The Annual General Body Meeting of the PTA was held on 16th July 2022.

Guru Pournima 2022

Guru pournima was celebrated in the most appropriate manner by paying obeisance to the founders of the institution Shri Pandurang Raya Bhatikar and Shri Ratnakar Bhatikar. The two visionaries and eminent personalities who set the foundation of this reputed Institution. Information about the two Gurus was shared by students of Std X C with all and a short quiz was held at the end of the Assembly.

School Council 2022-2023

Our Batch of elected Ministers of the School Council taking a pledge to abide by the rules, help to instill discipline and be true role models for all students.

Infrastructure Upgradation

As part of its plans to upgrade its physical and academic infrastructure, Bhatikar Model High School inaugurated its new Library premises on June 14, 2022. In addition to the attractive new Library, the renovated sanitation blocks, upgraded Science Laboratory and Computer Laboratory were also inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Prakash Gadhave, Site Director and Mr. Shantanu Damle, Technical Director, Colorcon Asia Pvt. Ltd., Verna, which extended financial support to the infrastructure upgradation project of the School under their CSR initiative.

The International Yoga Day on 21st June 2022

The International Yoga Day was observed in Bhatikar Model High School on 21st June 2022. The benefits of Yoga are innumerable. The Art of living, Margao Chapter,demonstrated Yog Aasanas which were perfomed by students. Mrs Maya Kesarkar, Saraswati Pai Raiturkar, Archana Borkar demonstrated a few asansas.

Expert-Speak 2022-23

Preparing for JEE and NEET

As part of its Expert-Speak 2022-23 series, Bhatikar Model High School organized an informative and interactive session of its students with Mrs Ritu Patney, senior faculty, Pace IIT & Medical, New Delhi/Goa and Mrs Rupa S Prabhu Khope, Principal, Dempo Pace, Panaji, on 11th June 2022.

The two experts guided the students and their parents on the techniques to prepare early for JEE, NEET and other national level competitive examinations. They emphasized the need to enhance the quality of learning during the foundational years, especially the need to focus on conceptual clarity, ability to think deep, and application of the mind for problem solving.

Farewell 2021-22 batch.

Farewell is a time to say good bye to your school, your teachers and your friends with a promise not only to keep in touch but also to keep the school flag flying high. And I’m sure this batch 2021-22 will do just the same like all our earlier batches did.

This year’s farewell was organised very efficiently by students of Std. IX under the guidance of Teachers Precilla, Savita and Supriya.

We need to mention our ex-student Mohit Parodkar who graciously took the responsibility towards decorating the wonderful entrance and the ‘Wings to Fly’ photoshoot backdrop. This is evidence to what is mentioned earlier. Thank you so much.

Learning beyond the Classroom

A one-day workshop was organised by

Sunaina Shirodkar the founder of Asier solutions in association with Goa State Innovation Council Prototype Lab in Don Bosco College. This workshop on Robotics and 3D printing was conducted for students of Bhatikar, classes VI to VIII on 5th April 2022. Children were briefed with the basic knowledge on Robotics and 3D Printing.

The workshop encouraged the young minds to come up with new ideas to solve problems with the help of robotics, coding and 3D printing. Ketan Naik and Pranay Dhavaskar conducted the session on Robotics and Siddhant Panjikar conducted a session on 3D Printing. The students participated in the workshop very enthusiastically. Overall the workshop was very enriching.

Annual Exhibition in Bhatikar Model High School

Learning through activity is great fun. And to encourage our budding scientists and entrepreneurs, Bhatikar Model High School and Primary School hold its Annual Exhibition in all subjects.. Science, Mathematics, Geography, History, Computers, Art and Craft, Languages Music and even Sports. This year the Annual Exhibition was held on the Science day 28th February and 29th February. The school was buzzing with activity for two days. Students put up wonderful innovative projects, models, riddles, puzzles. They explained concepts with great enthusiasm to visitors and students from nearby schools. The exhibition was inaugurated by PTA Chairman Ramprasad Prabhudesai. A very successful event put up by the School students under the guidance of their respective teachers. The volunteers did a wonderful job in arranging this event. 👏👏👏😊

Independence Day in Bhatikar Model High School

Celebrating Independence Day in Bhatikar Model High School is always a memory to cherish. The School organized various competitions like storytelling, elocution and solo dance to tap the hidden talents. Thanks to our PTA this event is always a memorable one.

The XVI Annual All Goa Ratnakar Bhatikar Memorial Quiz

The XVI Annual All Goa Ratnakar Bhatikar Memorial Quiz was hosted by Quiz Master Savio Suraj Victoria, teacher of Bhatikar Model High School on 30 August 2919. The winning team was Vidya Vikas Academy. The 1st runner up team was Ravindra Kelekar’s Dyanmandir and the 2nd runner’s up team was Almeida High School. Congratulations to the winners.

Hindi Day and Teacher’s Day was celebrated on 14th September 2019 in Bhatikar Model High School. A number of activities were conducted by our efficient team of Hindi teachers and children had a fun time during the assembly.
The school Ministers and students of Std X arranged a wonderful programme for the teachers to celebrate teacher’s day.
